Campground policies.

A few ground rules so everyone has a safe, relaxing stay. Please review before you book.

Please do not bring outside firewood — protect our trees. Firewood is available for purchase at the camp store.

Reservations

Reservations may be made by phone or online. Group and tent reservations must be made by phone. A group is five or more sites or cabins (or a combination). One RV or one tent is allowed per site; an additional tent may be added for a fee. A shade canopy is allowed at no cost and may not be used as a tent. No more than 8 people are allowed per site at any time.

A minimum 50% deposit is required on all reservations, with the balance due before your arrival date. No sites are held without a deposit or payment. You must be over the age of 21 to rent a campsite or cottage. We accept American Express, Discover, MasterCard, Visa, and personal checks.

Cancellations & refunds

Cancellations made 14 days or more before your arrival date receive a full refund minus bank and reservation fees. Cancellations 13 days or less before arrival forfeit the deposit; 3 days or less, all payments are forfeited. Holiday reservations are non-refundable. No refunds are given for shortened stays, early departures, or for weather or circumstances beyond our control. At the owner’s discretion, we may in limited cases retain your deposit toward a future stay within the same season.

Quiet hours & campfires

Quiet hours are 11pm to 8am and are strictly enforced. Campfires must be winding down by 11pm — please don’t add wood after 10:30pm. Fires must be tended at all times, kept in designated fire pits, limited to about 3 feet, and fully extinguished at night. No trash in the fire pit. No cutting of trees or vegetation.

Check-in & check-out

For RV and tent sites, check-out is 11am and check-in is after 1pm. For cottages, check-out is 11am and check-in is after 3pm. Please call if arriving after 8pm for instructions. All campers, visitors, and guests must register at the office, and vehicle/RV passes must be displayed at all times per Connecticut law.

Vehicles & speed

One vehicle and one tow vehicle are allowed per site (one vehicle per cottage). Additional vehicles park in the designated area for a fee. No parking on roadways or in unoccupied sites. The speed limit is 5 MPH everywhere in the park and is strictly enforced. Motorcycles may be ridden only directly to and from your site.

Pets

Pets must be leashed at all times — no exceptions — and you must clean up after them. Please bring vaccination records for check-in. Unhealthy or aggressive pets are not allowed, and pets that continually disturb other campers will be asked to leave. Pets are welcome throughout the campground, including our cottages — everywhere except the pool area.

Pool

There are no lifeguards on duty. Parents and guardians must supervise their children at the pool. The pool is open 9am to dusk and closed during inclement weather; all children 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Please read and follow the rules posted at the pool.

Children

Children 17 and under must be on their site by 10pm unless supervised by someone over 21, and may not be left in the park unattended. Children under 6 may not leave their site without an adult guardian. Bikes and scooters must be back at your site by dusk; helmets are required for anyone under 16 per Connecticut law. No electric or gas scooters.

Trash, trees & wastewater

Campers dispose of their own trash and recycling in the receptacles by the office. Nothing may be tied, nailed, or affixed to trees. No wastewater may be drained onto the ground (Connecticut law); a dump station and honey-wagon pump-out are available — please order pump-out early.

General conduct

Please be courteous to staff and considerate of other campers. Excessive alcohol use is not tolerated and kegs are not allowed. No fireworks, firearms, or weapons of any kind are permitted on the premises. Every camper assumes the risk of injury inherent in camping (per Connecticut Public Act 25-74).

Visitor policy

Grandview is a small campground, so visitor capacity is limited and based on overall occupancy. Total site occupancy including visitors is 8 people. Please check with the office and register visitors with payment before they arrive. Visitor fees are $8 for the day, $5 for children under 12 (free under 4), and $20 for overnight guests. On holiday weekends, visitors are $12 for the day and $30 overnight. Visitors may not bring dogs or bring their own visitors, must arrive no earlier than 10am and leave by 10pm, and must park in visitor areas. Registered campers are responsible for their visitors.

All policies are subject to change without notice, and any exceptions are at the owner’s discretion. Anyone who chooses not to follow these policies may be required to leave the park immediately, with no refund. Questions? Call the office at (860) 873-3332.
